The 6" Happy Tail is a straight tail style of soft plastic bait. It's named for the action of the tapering back portion, which mimics the action of a puppy dog's tail moving back and forth with the slightest of twitches imparted by the angler on the rod. The belly shape of the lure provides a stability in the bait even as the tail moves.
The bait lends itself to being rigged and presented in several different ways. Perhaps the two most basic are on a weightless swimbait hook and on a jig head. The lure pairs well with 6/0 or similar sized hooks with corkscrew keepers from several manufacturers. In terms of jig heads, the bait has actually been designed to receive the Monomoy Tackle SpiroLok '4' jig heads by simply cutting the head of the bait at the vertical line molded into the bait and then threading the jig head on to the hook and the corkscrew keeper.
The soft plastics come molded with a scale pattern. Most of the color patterns utilize translucent or sparkle aggregate for further flash and realism in the presentation. The baits are poured with an environmentally friendly mix and the hand pour is in two stages.
